Does Michigan law need to be changed to reflect a change in policy or to clarify current law?

If the discussion leads to retail movement of "fresh" unpasturized milk from the farm and it is to be a "Grade A System", shouldn't specialty health food or whole food stores, that could inform their customer, be considered for sales if they would commit to just selling fresh milk, so that in the transition phase there would not be confusion in the changing market to what was being purchased?

How do we frame official announcements about milk?

What are possible scenarios for allowing access to fresh unprocessed whole milk? (Note: when examining scenarios for access, in addition to risks and benefits, funding costs and liability are other considerations.)

What are the advertising concerns for farmers under each of these scenarios?

How do we balance consumer choice with food safety in providing fresh unprocessed whole milk?

As part of the decision-making process for the various scenarios, what are the lessons learned in other state options?

What are the options for the role of government in helping ensure the economic sustainability of family farms?

What would the future impact on family farms be under each option?
