MIFFS, Women in Ag Netowork(WIA) Presents- Building Healhty Soil on the Farm. Sunday, April 17, 1 pm-5 pm
Healthy soils are the foundation of any thriving sustainable farm. During this half day workshop, Sarah Longstreth of Good Stead Farm will walk us through analyzing soil properties, understanding what constitutes healthy soil, and how to work with the soil you have to increase health over time. This workshop includes interactive portions while analyzing soil in a field that will likely be wet/muddy. Outdoor clothing/boots are encouraged! Stay connected to WIA’s Facebook page.
The goal of the WIA network is to create an intentional space to grow meaningful connections between women working in agriculture in Genesee County and the extended area. This network is aimed at sharing challenges and opportunities for women in agriculture. Together we hope to build knowledge, connections, innovate, problem-solve, and create new opportunities for women’s livelihoods in Michigan.
