Understand the nuts and bolts of the financial aspects of running a profitable farm. Susan Smalley of Michigan State University, will introduce how to track financial data and create a projected cash flow and balance sheet. Participants will understand how to monitor cash flow on a monthly basis and how best to use their bookkeeping systems to lead to sound financial decisions. Two real-world farm examples will be used to illustrate how to analyze balance sheet and cashflow data to increase profit on your farm.
The goal of the WIA network is to create an intentional space to grow meaningful connections between women working in agriculture in Genesee County and the extended area. This network is aimed at sharing challenges and opportunities for women in agriculture. Together we hope to build knowledge, connections, innovate, problem-solve, and create new opportunities for women’s livelihoods in Michigan.
