Food Safety Workshop

Learn the ins and outs of on the farm food safety from 6 - 7:30 p.m. with Jen Silveri, Water Stewardship Technician for the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) and MIFFS Council Member. She will explain why and how to create an on-farm food safety plan as well as the best agricultural practices to verify that fruits and vegetables are produced, packed, handled, and stored in the safest manner possible.
Workshops are open to the public and donations are requested on a sliding scale from $5-15 (participants are asked to pay what they are able).

The Greater Lansing Food Bank’s Lansing Roots program is offering a workshop series on a variety of topics related to small-scale farming. Lansing Roots is designed to help limited resource or historically underserved individuals begin successful market gardening and farming through an incubator farm setting.
