Elaine Brown, MIFFS Executive Director, Appointed to Michigan Food Policy Council

Elaine Brown, MIFFS Executive Director, received news on July 22, 2005 that she was appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve a two-year term on the Michigan Food Policy Council, serving as a voice for sustainable agriculture for the state. She was also asked to serve on two of the four task force committees set-up by the Council as major areas of focus over the next year.

Governor Granholm signed an executive order earlier this year, establishing the Michigan Food Policy Council to find ways to increase economic development opportunities in Michigan’s food sector.
