After many years of connecting buyers and sellers of agricultural products and services, MIFFS Marketline retired in May 2008.
In its place is a newer and better resource to connect Michigan consumers and growers of agricultural product: Michigan MarketMaker.
MIFFS Marketline was a free, online database created in 1998 to link buyers and sellers of Michigan agricultural products. This direct marketing connected consumers with farmers and bridged the gap from field to plate so that buyers knew where their food came from. Marketline was one of the first of its kind as a direct marketing resource for buyers and sellers.
Michigan farmers could register to list their products and services while consumers could search or register themselves as buyers, groceries, cooperatives or restaurants seeking local food.

MIFFS collaborated with many other agricultural service and commodity groups to bring MarketMaker to Michigan to make direct marketing easier for producers and finding local food easier for consumers. MarketMaker also offers other great tools, like business and market planning, to help farmers most effectively market their products.
Visit www.mimarketmaker.msu.edu to check out the site. Find marketing tools, local processors, wholesalers and retailers and list your farm and its products. Farmers markets can register, too! And registration is free!
