Opportunities

The Women-In-Ag (WIA) Network emerged after a pilot project in 2014 in partnership with Michigan State University (MSU) Center for Regional Food Systems. Network activities are based in Genesee County, with a Facebook page to support a wide geographic reach. The WIA Network provides opportunities for mentorship, education, and peer-to-peer support.

Activities include:

  • Network meetings to share experiences

  • Workshops

  • Demonstrations at the Women-In-Ag Farm Development Center

​

The WIA Farm Development Center is a 3-acre farm located at the Ascension Genesys Health System/Health Park Campus and serves as a demonstration farm for women beginning farmers and is home to one incubator farmer.
